ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project is a response to current trends in medicine, the increasing use of technology in all aspects of healthcare and the reshaping of healthcare institutions and practices in light of these new technologies. Convergence refers to the bringing together of formerly divergent practices, the development of technology and its application in the contexts of healthcare and medical research. Thus, our team works with researchers at Erasmus Medical Center, Erasmus University and Delft University of Technology who are involved in projects that involve such convergences.
We are tackling issues such as the ethics of continuous data collection, and of AI, machine learning and algorithms, as well as the ethics of personalized and precision medicine. Our objective is to proactively map and analyse the ethical issues arising from convergence research activities and ambitions - we thus work with and are funded through the Convergence for Health and Technology initiative.
